25th to 27th of April, 2017.
To find Adrian’s house (my host on Couchsurfing here) it is not difficult. I am happy to meet him because he has quite experience in travels so I think he can give some tips. And he does! He tells me some stuffs that I really need to hear and teach me some important things that I bring with me until nowadays: like how we actually do not need take a shower every single day. Of course if you leave in a very hot place, like a tropical country, it is another story, but if you are leaving or passing through a very cold country, you are not dirty that much to have a shower every single day. Adrian tells me that are some villages in countries where the snow is constant most of the year, and that people can stay weeks without having a shower. That makes you think about one small thing that you can do to leave a better world for your own kids or relatives (if you have them) or simply doing your part for a better future right now. He also teach me to always buy the cheapest things. Because, you see: if there is a big difference it will be between the cheapest one and the most expensive (if there is one) but the rest of them will always be basically the same. So what you can do is to buy the cheapest one and save some money. He also gave me a nice protection to my camera (smaller than the big bag I had bought) and an ecological bag from his University (Cumbria) which was very useful and I still have it (11th of November, 2018).
I go for a little tour around the city centre. I forget the SD card for the camera so that is why you will not see to many pictures. No one of the castle, for example. Of course I do not go inside because you have to pay over £9. But you can see a picture of The Citadel which is just about 10 minutes walking from the castle and it looks very old and beautiful. In general, just take an afternoon to walk around town because I think it worth. Outside of the Cathedral, for example, there are some old detailed constructions which are really beautiful.

Adrian cooks some nice rice with eggs and tomato sauce and also bakes a very tasty bread with dark bear and seeds. It is interesting to note in how two people who while are travelling have some similarities (like we both travel in a cheap way and not in the tourist ways, visiting not top one list countries and we stay with the locals) but “back in home” we are quite different (he is a doctor in the hospital, has a good house and a car and I have nothing).
Next morning he helps me fixing the handlebars of the bike and I get back to the train station going in direction of Glasgow: without a roommate or an apartment but with a Couchsurfing.
P.S.: When me and Adrian went to the Supermarket, I decided to buy a wine as a ‘thank you’ for he host me but, at the register, they ask to see my identity. I was flattered at the beginning but then sad right a way because I had not with me so I could not buy the wine. Apparently, there is nothing to do with how you looks like, they will always ask to see your ID (of course I cannot imagine they doing that with a sixty years old person). So always bring your ID with you once going to shopping in Europe, does not matter in where there.
